Never EVER again. I went to The Brownstone with my girlfriend and a friend on a Friday evening to grab a bite to eat. I'd eaten there a few times before and thought the food was pretty decent pub fare. Being Friday evening, we expected to wait for a while. No problem. We stood by the bar and had a few beers and waited. After about an hour, we started seeing parties of 3 and 4 who had come in well after us being seated. After asking the host what was going on, he said that he was going to seat us, but 'got overruled' by the manager who took it upon himself to come out and start seating people. The host assured us that we'd be seated next as a 3 and a 4 top had just become available and just needed to be bussed. Cool, so we knocked back the last of our beers and settled up at
the bar...only to turn around to see the same floor manager seating people who had come in WAY after us at those tables. We were all a little pissed off so I went back to the host/doorguy to find out what was going on. He claimed that he was once again 'overruled'. Finally the manager came back to the front door, apologized to us and told us that he had a table for us and to follow him. He then proceeded to lead us to a tiny TWO-TOP at the bar. Needless we turned around and walked right out and went to The Globe (a nice place a block away) and were seated promptly and had our drink orders taken immediately. I recommend the steak wrap. - Justin, 12/30/2006
I'll never go back. The waitress brought me my coffee and my cup was floating in a plate filled with coffee. She said, 'Whoops it spilled on the way over,' and then plopped it down in front of me. It wasn't just a spill - the plate was flooded. She went to get
me some napkins so I could soak it up myself. My boyfriend was furious, but I took the napkins we already had and soaked it up before she got back. When she did, I tried to make a friendly joke about the fact that she served me a flood and she (very snotty & in a sing song voice) said, 'Well accidents happen.' Big mistake. I will never go to the Brownstone again as a result. HORRIBLE! - Kathy, 02/24/2006
