Detail for Blue Nile : Restaurant, Ethiopian
[an error occurred while processing this directive]
Recently opened, authentic Ethiopian fare includes meat and vegetarian items. Blue Nile is open daily 1 pm-10 pm. - Alotta, 04/14/2006
Being a big fan of Ethiopian food, I was excited to try out Blue Nile. It is hands down the best and most authentic Ethiopian food in the Chicago area that I've tried. Every dish has such a delicious balance of spices and a full, rich flavor. It is fresh and the ingredients are high quality. I particularly like the key wot-- red beef stew, yebeg tibs--stir fried lamb with spices--and the kitfo--beef flavored with butter and mitmita. The injera bread is also very tasty. The restaurant is currently BYOB but there is a convenient place to buy beer and wine two doors down. The service was very pleasant, the bill inexpensive and the atmosphere relaxing and inviting. It's a a little off the beaten path on a side street, so don't despair if you don't see it right away. The food is worth it! - Pauline, 12/01/2006
