Bavette's bar and boeuf is right next to Gilt Bar and you can definitely see similarities on the menu. The drinks were good e especially their old fashioned. We ordered peppered duck and goat cheese terrine, crab stuffed avocado, braised veal cheeks, and streak frites. The food didn't disappoint but I didn't think.anything was too creative. It's pretty much everything I expected but nothing more. I've been wanting to try this spot since the opening. Maybe it's because I had typo much expectations so i felt it didn't really deliver. I was hoping maybe they'd have a signature fish that might wow me. Overall the foods was good but i feel like you can get pretty much the same items from a lot if the other restaurants in River North. - prima, 03/04/2013
