This lovely dining room, located off the lobby of the Hotel Burnham, boasts a stately yet relaxed atmosphere, complete with large windows with velvet curtains and huge ornate light fixtures. An American menu features a daily buttermilk-crust pot pie, grilled pork chops with macaroni and cheese, chicken breast accompanied by sour cream mashed potatoes, salads, sandwiches, and more. Afternoon tea service is offered. Open for breakfast Mon-Sat, lunch and dinner offered daily. - Alotta, 03/02/2004
I took my family to the Attwood for dinner. I had made reservations online for four several days in advance, and they accomadated us for an additional person the night before. The food was very good and the service was fine. The cost of the meal was comparable to other loop restaurants. Overall, our experience was very good. - Jeff P, 10/14/2006
We arrived at 11:30 for lunch, and the restaurant was empty ; we were surprised
to be turned away, the hostess claimed they were 'booked' with reservations. - ace99, 01/18/2003
Hello-My name is Candice and I went to The Atwood Cafe for lunch today with my sister and my mother. I have been to the Atwood before with co-workers and received good service, good food, etc. Unfortunately, today that was not my experience. I chose the Atwood Cafe to let my mother have (who really doesn't come to the Loop often) a chance to have real downtown lunch experience. We were very disappointed. We ordered quesadillas, peach soda, and the Caesar Salad with grilled chicken. The salad was terrible. The croutons were hard as a rock. We could not even chew them. There was hardly any dressing on the salad (I mean we could not even taste it). We asked the waitress if the croutons were supposed to be that way because we could not chew them. Well, she came back with another salad which did us no good as we had already tried to eat the one we had. She also told us maybe we could
share the salad. Somehow that is not the answer we expected or deserved. Living in these economic hard times $55.00 is quite a lot to pay for three salads for lunch that we did not even enjoy. I have recommended the Atwood Cafe to - candice, 09/02/2005
