This community festival celebrates the area's restaurants and merchants. Hours are Sat 12 pm-10 pm, Sun 12 pm-8 pm. Festivalgoers can vote for their favorites in several categories.
North end of the fest features a stage with great music; rib vendors at the fest include Celtic Crown, Woody's Smokehouse, Cy's Steak, Gale Street Inn, Grizzly's, and Merle's.

Ribfest Chicago kicks off the weekend on Saturday, June 7th starting out with some jamtastic indie rock from local boys Boho Paisley, smoky southern rock from northerners Mighty Short Bus, quirky-fun songwriter Rafter (first Chicago appearance), Chicago Celt stomp faves Kevin Flynn and the Avondale Ramblers, stylistic indie locals Company of Thieves, new bluesy-art-pop local brothers piNK dEVil (Danny Black of Healthy White Baby and The Blacks), cool alt-edgy triphop Skybox and spit-polished real-deal alt-rockers The Silos. Just when you think it cant get any better, Chicagos own Treaty of Paris brings an explosive indie rock show to a smashing close on the Bud Select Stage and the biggest new movers on national radio The Alternate Routes headline the Chicago Reader Stage for a big Saturday night blowout finale that even we cant wait to see. - wm, 05/19/2008
