Detail for Little Joe's : Lounge / Italian
[an error occurred while processing this directive]
This place is the very definition of a neighborhood bar. The bartender and owner is Little Joe, preceded decades ago by only his father. His nephew makes up the fresh homemade sausage and runs the kitchen and most nights you will find Little Joe's mom seated at the end of the bar. Joe knows all regulars by name and recognizes you after long absences. Unassuming, good and always fun. Best dishes include any of the italian sausage meals, the ravioli appetizer and the antipastos. I moved to the east coast years ago and Joe's is always a first stop on every visit. - marcoliver@yahoo.com, 04/18/2005
Would love to know more and try more products. - chace@citlink.net, 05/22/2003
What Little Joe's lacks in ambience is made up for in homemade taste. After wandering in to Joe's at the odd hour of 3:30pm, we were seated in the front window against a brick wall near the bar. Joe's interior is narrow and unassuming with the bar taking up the majority of floor space. A scan of the menu lead us both to try Joe's homemade
sausage with home potatoes and roasted peppers. We were informed that the sausages would take about 30 min and 40min later we got down to business. This is flat out the best itailian sausage I've ever tasted. Chock full of onion, green pepper and spices with roasted peppers and drizzled olive oil & parmesan on top. I would order these in a heartbeat if Joe sold them online. Alas based on Joe's dated atmosphere I doubt I'll get my chance any time soon. - Jeff Haley, 05/28/2002
