A great meeting place, Kronie's has a large area upstairs in addition to TV lined bars on the first level. - sys, 12/05/2001
I DJ'd here when I was in college (1988-1989). Great job. I was totally underage (19). There was a waitress here named Ann who I had a huge crush on. - Sam B., 10/08/2010
What didn't happen here? I used to tend bar and I remember a lot--probably too much. There was the night I heard gunfire from the basement as Patrick, Murph, and Maroon emptied Signoretti's service revolver into a case of empties. Kurt's crazy dogs on the third floor. Gary, the owner's, obnoxious freeloading brothers; calling the cops when Moss clocked Billy Kay while his hands were full. Not to mention the bachelor parties and the valet parkers and all the dealing that went on. Free drinks on Tuesday happy hour, litre Long Island Iced Teas, upside-down margarita's, and wall to wall yuppies staggering home from the Loop. Not to mention the trippy regulars (Brendan leading the pack), and the parade of employees. And then there were the folks
next door at Eliot's Nesst...it goes on. - the ghost of 18 east bellevue, 11/27/2007
Back in the day - A buddy & I walked in for a cold one - The scene was perfect - Rock & Roll on the juke - Bartender dancing and singing while polishing glasses - Poured us 2 cold ones - He was testing a few drinks which we were givn a few to tatse - Stingers! We were in Chicago to see a few Cubbie and SOX games - Leaving this joint I couldn't answer the bell and took a cab to the Hotel while my buddy went off to find a SOX game - I think he ended up somewhere in Wisconsin. - Henry, 04/26/2007
I used to DJ here in the early '90s. Great drinking and meeting bar. I met my 1st wife here. The bartenders are nice, the manager was cool, and the waitresses were easy. AND... employees were allowed to sneak a drink from time to time. The perfect job. - Joe, 06/29/2003
