You gotta get to the Kingston Mines. This place is the bomb. I've been there the last three times I've been to the Windy City. Don't worry about the address...all the ca bbies know where the Mine is located. - james, 09/14/2003
On August 14, 1994 my current husband and I had our first date at you establishment! He was from Florida and I was from Ohio. It was love at first sight and we are as happy as two peas in a pod with 1 child. It was night I'll never forget and the music and atmosphere was great. Thank you. - CarlaTurner, 07/30/2006
Great blues joint. First class music and atmosphere. Monday night was bumpin'. MONDAY! Thats insane. - Detroit Rock, 10/08/2002
I was at the bar last Saturday. The entertainment
was some of the best I have seen in this kind of setting. I only wish I had been more sober so I could remember everything. ---so yes, the drinks are good too! - Tammy, 02/05/2001
Having cut my teeth on a diet of Howlin’ Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy and the like, my first visit to Chicago just had to include a visit to the Kingston Mines – man, was I blown away? Let’s not be fooled, there’s nothing contrived about this joint and the artists who play there. This is not some tacky tourist attraction, everything is real from the wooden benches to the huge, bad-ass security staff. Not forgetting some of the choice characters that slope in after all the middle-class folks have gone home to bed. No sir, this is the real end of Chicago! If hot cramped places full of folks having a ball and listening to some kickin’ artists is how you like your Blues and you’re within a thousand miles of the Kingston Mines, then drop in - you’ll be pissed if you don’t. - Archie Ferguson, 11/23/2000
