I feel like a lot of places now in River North focuses more on the crowd than the actual decor of a new restaurant or bar. Let's be honest after 1am you could care less where you are at has crystal chandeliers or not. You just need to be somewhere where the crowd gives good energy, the people are attractive and the drinks are not watered down. That's not too much to ask is it? When The Grid opened I was asked to join a law school celebration. First impression was good I liked that it is just the right size for a restaurant that turns into a bar hangout late night. Someplaces like John Barelycorn is so big that you are overwhelmed by the crowd and you can lose your friends easily. The DJ was fantastic but as the party i was joining stared to get a little alcohol happy dancing kicks in and a security guy came
n immediately put a stop to it. "no.dancing allowed" apparently was a rule at The Grid. I m very confused by this how can you put a stop to dancing at a bar with a DJ?! "Nobody puts baby in a corner!" I'd suggest that if you plan to go to The Grid make sure you don't get happy feet. - prima, 02/25/2013
