This expansive, two-level Irish-themed bar features exposed brick and a dark wood bar and accents. Tasteful decorations pay homage to Ireland as well as the colorful history of legendary O'Sullivan's Tavern that used to be on this spot. Nearly a dozen brews on tap include Goose Island and seriously good pour of Guinness. The food menu includes cabbage, stews, steaks, burgers, appetizers, and more. Cigar-friendly. The exceptional Irish decor is a tremendous setting for an authentic Irish Pub experience. I spoke to the owner's wife, a gal named Amy, who told me how she scoured flea markets, fabric shops and irish boutiques to set the ambiance that you see today. What a great job she did making table cloths and curtains. This little cutie even built the booths and help gut the place pre-opening. She even poured the best Shamrock Guinness I've ever seen. You'd swear she was from Ireland! I

Emmit's is the perfect little bar hidden in a not so perfect neighborhood. However, with the Blue Line now open across the street and a whole slew of dance clubs going up around, it seems to be becoming more and more popular. Stop in and check it out sometime after work, trust me, it's a really nice lookin bar. Stop in on Wednesday and see Matt. He's a great bartender. Ask for a Margarita or a perfect pint of Guinness!
