The Sail Loft used to be one of the best spots to hang out in Boston...especially in the summer. However, the manager that is currently there is horrible. On a recent Thursday evening, following a birthday dinner for a friend at Billy Tse's with a few other couples, we proceeded to the Sail Loft to meet up with more friends. Within 5 minutes of our arrival, having ordered a round of drinks from the very nice waitstaff, the general manager aggressively confronted a male and a female from our group over a piece of cake leftover from the dinner that they had taken out of its box. After the manager was quelled from verbally tirading the woman and his invitation to one of the men to discuss the matter in the side alley was refused, our group was so disgusted by this manager that we decided to leave... not even having been there long enough to have a round of drinks delivered. Unfortunately this confrontational, and frankly irrational, manager has made a fun, friendly spot on the



north end waterfront into just the opposite. I eagerly await and anticipate his departure, at which point I will gladly return to the Sail Loft. - ED, 05/23/2003
