[an error occurred while processing this directive]
The Beehive or La Ruche -- "the beehive" in French for which it is named was an early 20th-century artists' colony in Paris where the likes of Matisse and Chagall worked and made merry. Today The Beehive is an underground Bohemian bistro featuring amazing cuisine, libations, artwork and live music nightly. Nestled below the Boston Center for the Arts historic Cyclorama in Bostons South End, The Beehive serves the eclectic fare of Chef Rebecca Newell, rustic comfort foods infused with American, European, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern influences. - wm, 05/12/2008

May 24, 2008 marks the official opening of The BEEch - The Beehives unique take on outdoor dining in Boston. We wanted to do something that was unique, fresh and offered something completely different to the outdoor dining experience in Boston, said Jack Bardy Co-owner of The Beehive. When the BEEch - the Beehives 80 seat out door dining addition officially opens on Saturday May 24th at 10:30AM on the Boston Center for the Arts Plaza - it will focus on an urban picnic theme in which diners will be seated and handed a menu of freshly prepared casual gourmet items to choose from. Once customers have selected their items, the wait staff will return with these culinary treasures in packages and jars along with fresh bread tucked in picnic baskets to share. - wm, 05/12/2008
