Come join the fun as Samuel Adams and Beer Summit kick off Boston Oktoberfest in the Castle at Park Plaza. The Boston Oktoberfest this year will include two the Lord Mayor Contest, Best Dressed German Contest, Stein Holding Contest, oompah bands, carnival games, and a selection of beers that Samuel Adams will brew excl usively for the Boston Oktoberfest. Festivities kick off at 12:00 noon with the Official Lord Mayor, Stein Holding , and Best Dressed German contest hosted by FNX starting at 4 pm. Official Lord Mayor duties include being able to chic ken dance better then anyone else, and a love of Samuel Adams Beer. - wm, 09/05/2004
The Lord Mayor this year will win one-week vacation to Hilton Head, SC at the beautiful Port Royal Condos. The Best Dressed German will win a 4 person White Water Rafting trip provided by New England Outdoor Center. If you've got an arm of steel and more determination then anyone else, the Stein Holding contest will be more your style and the winner will win dinner and a show for 2 to 14 Paradise Rock Club shows for in Fall 2004. Featured draft beers include; Samuel Adams Octoberfest, Samuel Ada ms Boston Lager, Sam Adams Light, and two specialty beers that are being brewed for the Boston Oktoberfest - Samuel Ad ams Rauch Bier and Samuel Adams Dunkel Weiss. Both beers are traditional German style beers and great for the Oktober fest Season. Rauch bier is a bottom fermenting beer that uses smoked malts to give it a rich deep flavor. Dunkel Weiss is a darker version of a traditional German Hefe-weissen or wheat beer. - wm, 09/05/2004
